August 28th Wine & Dine Features Australian Foods and Wine
Fort Worth Restaurants - Area Restaurant
Now that we have filled you up with Texas food, it is time to set our sights on the next Wine & Dine, which will be held August 28th. The theme for this next event is Australian and Chef Franson has put together another memorable menu for your taste buds.
The cost of this Wine & Dine will be $65 per person plus tax and 20% gratuity, and $10 of each dinner will go to the Alzheimer’s Association to help fight that deadly disease. At 6:30 we will have a meet and greet and then dinner will be served at 6:50.
In keeping with the Australian theme, wines from Australia will be served with each course. Those wines will include the McWilliams Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, the McWilliams Riesling 2009, the Greg Norman Shiraz 2008, and the Greg Norman Sparkling. All wines come from the South Eastern Australia region, the greatest wine-producing region in Australia.
And what about those Australian wines? Australia is the fourth-leading wine exporting country in the world with 750 million litres exported annually. There are more than 60 designated wine regions in the country but most wine is produced in the cooler southern part of the country.
Wine varieties differ according to climate, topography, and soil types. The most common Australian varieties include Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. The first attempt at wine making was in 1788 and it was unsuccessful. However, by 1820 success was found and the first Australian wines were sold domestically. By 1822 Australian wines were being exported and the rest, as they say, is history.
Today Australian wines are touted worldwide for their flavor and distinct character.
This Wine & Dine promises to be a great event so you will want to make your reservations early so you don’t miss out. You can call in your reservation or go online using our online reservation form.
