Fort Worth Restaurants - Area Restaurant

Today we turn our attention to Kendall Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay, one of the premium whites found at Chef Point Café.  Your favorite fine dining restaurant recently underwent a face-lift and as part of that renovation we added some premium wines for your tasting pleasure.  We hope you enjoy a brief history of the wine and a brief description of that vineyard responsible for the wine we carry.

Chardonnay is one of the most widely grown grapes in the world, mainly because of its ability to adapt to different conditions and it is fairly easy to grow.  Originally from the Burgundy region of France, Chardonnay grapes now can be found around the globe and thriving quite nicely in many of those locations.  One of the interesting characteristics of the chardonnay grape is that it has a tendency to take on the personality of the winemaker; in other words, it is easy to manipulate to your own tastes.

The Kendal Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay has been praised for its fruity flavors including pineapple, mango and papaya, all exploding in your mouth as you taste this wonderful white.  There are aromas of vanilla and honey and a hint of oak and it all combines to give you a great taste experience.  Others have remarked that they sensed aromas of white peach, honeysuckle and green apple skins while tasting the KJ Chardonnay.  Whatever your experience you are sure to come away finding this medium-bodied white to be a pure pleasure with your meal.

And what should you match this wine with?  Generally lighter dishes do well with the Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, dishes such as our Chef Point Mediterranean Chicken Salad, Cioppino Soup, Grilled Salmon, Sea Scallops or Crab Cake Pasta. In truth chardonnay is a very good choice with most salads and soups, so feel free to experiment and try it when you are sampling several of our meals prepared by Chef Franson.

A final word to consider about chardonnay: since this grape is so easy to grow in so many regions of the world, there is no such thing as a “standard” when tasting chardonnays.  They are as individual as the winemakers and two chardonnays produced ten miles from each other on the California coast will taste completely different and have completely different aromas.  Find one that works for you and enjoy the fruity taste experience, and if you have a hard time finding one that you like keep trying; there are thousands of different varieties of chardonnay and chances are excellent you will eventually find one you can live with.

Any questions?  Your favorite family restaurant in Fort Worth has gotten bigger and better and we love hearing from you; send us your comments and suggestions and we promise to pay attention to your observations.
